Yes Rhoads are a tad ticky @ idle up to prox 3000 RPM , about the same tick sound level as a soild tappet cam'd engine is..in most cases slighlty quiter.
When using Rhoads we use a high volume high pressure oil pump this reduces lifter bleed down & tick sound @ low RPM's
We have used original Rhoads & the new V-Max Rhoads lifter with great sucsess in street & track & drag race engines.
If you cannot afford to roller roller cam your engine.. Rhoads lifters and a good quality hyd performance cam is your best choice. IMO

UK customer called me with the same engine in his classic 67 Stang and wanted to know should he install Rhoads & Isky cam in his engine...?
Many people told him.. do not use Rhoads liftters there noisey & don't do what they say they will do.
Sent the man his complete engine kit & with Isky & Rhoads.... it was love @ 1st tick
