Hi i cant remember the full addy but it was gearboxman ,he done quaife cheaper, i havent got the funds for a quaife so im looking at a phantom grip diff. :) rich

the axle is an sd1 with watts linkage,normally off a vitesse or v,p efi. but internals could be different??, gearbox im not sure on but it looks like a sd1 item, but someone will have the numbers to check on here, :) rich

that is the gearbox ident link,
there should be a raised lug on the gearbox at the base with a number stamped into it.

No that cant be repaired in car, the output shaft has sheared probably easier to replace the box, Im wondering if you have sufferd the famous 5th gear oil pump failure.
Are you sure the diff is knackered, its got to be worth a look inside by taking the cover off

Difficult when the pictures are not pin sharp but the fracture looks like a classic fatigue failure, nice matte surface except the centre which will be slightly rougher. Starter for the crack would be a manufacturing defect in the base of the groove behind the speedodrive gear location.

As Ian says check the diff, I'd be surprised if you did damage to the diff when the box failed.

This is how my diff look's does anyone know if this is a stock diff ??? I think the code on the diff said TKC0108-EEE

It should be a Atlas Rear Axcel limited slip diff.

Can't see any clutch plates or dogs so I think you'll find thats an open diff. Also judging from the state of the planet gears, I would say its Knkd :lol: :? :lol: :shock:

Thats just a standard open diff, nowt special there,
The question has to be asked, -------What the fec were you doing to cause so much damage, Rover diffs are a strong unit, and I have never seen a flange shear off like that, :D :D :D
