Found this on fleabay. Is this the same box as the lt77, and if so which ratios should it have? Are they any good for what I need?

Not sure about lsd, I don't think any of the volvo axles had them in as standard. The 240 axle is 59 inches face to face, and the 740 is wider by about 3 or 4 inches I think, either that or the 740 is 59 inches and the 240 is narrower. Another option we sometimes use is a transit mk1/2 twin wheel ax...

then change your diff ratio if you can. You also have to remember where a V8 makes its power as it isn't the same as a pinto True, don't think we've got much choice on diff ratio, we are using volvo 240 and 740 axles, we chop 240 n/s axle tube off and weld it on the 740, that offsets the rear axle ...

Need a gearbox, but what could I use?
Right then, I'm looking for a suitable gearbox. The one's we usually use are the bedford cf zf gearbox with a 3rd gear ratio of 1.6something. These are proving hard to find (well to me at least) I need a good strong box, to take around 210 bhp for my stockcar, it will be fitted to a 3.5 rv8. Any ide...

Lets See Now the turns are all one way? So mount the engine canted over so the sump is outermost The centrifugal force will help the oil get back to the sump Then find your cam specs and find out where your torque max is. - probably nowhere near the 6000rpm. Then redo the gearing etc to run the mot...

Hmmmm, interesting points, really don't want to get it wrong. My mate is running his engine at around 6,000 rpm by the time he gets to the end of the straights, so it probably gets to that rpm for around 3 seconds, twice per lap which is aprox 16-17 seconds. We do 16 laps in the heats and 20 in the ...

Cheers for the advice. Will fit it level then. Makes life easier that way anyhow. This may sound like a silly question, but I have no experience with hydraulic lifters (which the rule book states we must keep), will slick 50 or similar have any bad effect on the lifters? I always bang a bottle of sl...

Make sure you get the right one as a 300 or 4.6 isn't going to do much good in a 3.5. The oil at the top only really cools the springs and lubes the rockers so its not like you would be cutting oil to a cam. In fact your supplying more oil to the cam and crank if you restrict the heads. Your also s...

Baffled Sump....
I'm going to be building the engine fairly soon. (3.5 rover) It's going to be used for a stockcar, so it will be going round left turns approx 1/2 of it's running time. What advice would you guys give regarding baffles in the sump to stop oil surge? Is it likely to be a problem with the rover engine...
