Hi All , I want to mount the short remote housing in the straight up position . I've widened the bottom holes in the housing to allow it to sit upright ... but that leaves it so the bottom of the gear lever doesn't catch properly in the Sherpa yoke bush . Hi Chris , Unfortunately not , as the manifold is now on the engine . It came off a P6 .

SU carb inlet manifold on 3.9 efi engine --- water jackets

Hi All , Just wondering the significance of the following : I've put the carbs and inlet manifold from a P6 on a 3.9 efi , but on the 3.9 heads the rear water jackets are blanked off , unlike the P6 where they are open . The engine hasn't been run yet , I'm just wondering how it'll affect cooling ? ...

Thanks Chris , I must be looking at the piston then , as there is a step behind the threads and then a second step further down . Presumably the bore would be the same width all the way down if no piston was in it ?

Hi , This might sound like an odd question , but when looking down the bore in the oil pump how do you tell if an oil relief piston is actually there ? I can see a narrowing just below the threads and what looks like a second narrowing further down . I cant make out if this is the piston or just par...

Thanks Mike , I'd heard the original set up with a cold air feed from the front was pretty good , but the amount of space under the bonnet of the mk1 escort it's going into will probably be the final decider ! Regards , Gerry .
