I initially ran Doris on a stock flapper EFI, then moved over to Megasquirt 1.1 using as much of the original system as possible for easy fallback.

Having done another MS build on a 4AGE using Edis, I will do the same on the V8 as it's got to be better than the existing dizzy & optical wotsits

I can't believe minorv8 referred to the install in Doris as anything less than elegant :D

As part of the renovations, I promise some bits will be rationalised a bit!



My princess boxes are on rod, which made a simple job of hooking to Mini linkage.

Yes, it's true, after 11 years away, Doris is back.

The bodywork is in need of attention as some of the paint has lifted, but considering the respray in 2004 was a a panic job over one weekend, she hasn't faired too badly.

There is a bit of reassembly needed to finish the install of new clutch ...

All automotive projects have been on hold for a while. Mostly been concentrating on stuff around Spag HQ!

Am about 45 mins away.

Still got to sort out a spigot bearing for the Pievan, but the adapter I made was 28mm thick, but then I did cut down the bellhousing by 17mm.

As a trial, redrill the holes in the fly.

The (bodged) - er I mean redrilled Princess flywheel fitted on the V8 crank with just a suitably thick spacer to put the clutch in the right place for the g.box.

Worked fine without exploding, but would ultimately recommend a custom fly after you know it ...

I did briefly toy with the idea of a PG1, but the overall width was too big, so ditched the thought without going much further. So stuck with the 4cly princess box under the sump.

Easiest thing is to make a template of the back of the engine from cardboard showing the bell hosing bolt holes ...

Weld some nice big curved paddles on to some spare rims at an angle like a bike turbo trainer for an air resistance brake ?

Ran a Lumenition most successfully in the V8 Mini, well up to the point the optical sensor came adrift in the dizzy and knocked off a lobe on the plastic chopper

Ran a bit funny on the way home with one pot not sparking, and the ECU not quite getting the right number of ignition events
