Have you noticed any running vibrations on the engine with it not being balanced with the original pistons.

Hi guys,is it worth my while sticking 4.0 rv8 pistons in my 4.6 that i'm rebuilding to raise the compression if so how much extra bhp will it give me and are there any negatives about doing this piston swap.

Right got a bit more info on the box its a later E prefix lt77 box it looks identical to my sd1 box except the input shaft is a lot thicker at the end were it normally sits in the crank and the pivot pin is on the other side,anybody know what this box is and if i can fit it to my rv8.

Thanks for the replys,is it possible to swap the sdi front input shaft retaining cover over to the sherpa box so the pivot pin is on the right side for the sd1 bellhousing clutch setup,and is it a diy job to swap over the input shafts if need be ie sdi onto the sherpa[if it is a sherpa box ...

Hi chaps,i'm after a bit of advice on gearbox fittings,i have a lt77 sherpa box that i want to fit onto my rover v8 not sure what box this is ,it has a round type bellhousing and clutch release arm pivot pin is on the opposite side to the sd1 box and also the input shaft is a lot thicker,i can swap ...

The roll pin for the open diff is longer than the roll pin for the lsd diff. You only need to remove it if you are changing the sun/star gears. (Only two of the gears I think are interchangable between lsd and open). IIRC the roll pin just needs drifting down so then you can tap the axle out, I ...

Tom how do you remove the roll pin to get the diff gears out,i can see the split pin holding it in place but not too sure how to get it out,btw pm sent.

I have just done the exact same job. Are you changing the bearings as well? If you change the pinion and crown wheel to a different case then you should also adjust the pinion height which is very difficult! much easier to keep the gears in the same original case then you can get away without doing ...

Don't know if anybody can help me i'm struggling like f-ck to try and get the bearing housings off my granada cossie lsd,it needs a special tool [no jokes please] to undo them,i'm going to swap the crown and pinion from 3.62 down to a 3.38 to help with the 4.0 v8 fitted,anybody around manchester ...

Is it possible to trace the wires that i don't need back to the ecu connector and remove them,i just need the loom to run my engine [ coil,injectors etc]also can somebody tell me the wires to run my engine and were to find them in the loom, rob

Right just a update on the head skim,dropped them off at the local engineering company [qausar] they checked them to confirm that they have never been skimmed before,and they recommended a 40 tho head skim with the composite gaskets to push the compression ratio up to a safe amount,they will be ...

I thought so but wanted someone with a bit more efi knowledge than me to say its okay before i go any further. rob
