hotwire help needed

Is it possible to trace the wires that i don't need back to the ecu connector and remove them,i just need the loom to run my engine [ coil,injectors etc]also can somebody tell me the wires to run my engine and were to find them in the loom, rob

I've spent ages re-arranging / shortening my Rover Hotwire ECU loom connections to fit in a kit car so I have all wires listed in a spreadsheet as well as what's what. (It worked afterwards too.)
