Which clutch???

Post by v8trev »

If I am mating an '84 Discovery v8 to an lt77 gearbox with an SD1 bellhousing which clutch assembly should I use or doesn't it matter?
I will be retaining the flywheel from the Discovery.

you will have to use a 2wd flywheel and if you use a stock one then the stock SD1 clutch would be the easy option.

I just read this again and you wont be able to fit the disco flywheel into the SD1 bellhousing as its far too thick and the pressure plate will hit.

Hi Marki

Thanks - so presumably I will need the flywheel and complete clutch assembly from an SD1? If so there are two listed - one for pre 1985, one for post 1985 - will either do the job?

Thanks

either will do, the flywheels are all the same but the clutches changed. They went to a self centering release bearing.
