Valve springs

Nigel at UK blowers has told me that I should be ok with single heavy duty valve springs but I just thought I would get a second opinion from you guys!

Its a 4.0 with real steel blower cam (which recommends double springs) and 4-71 blower atop, and rhodes lifters.

Double springs will end up costing about a hundred quid more by the time I buy suitable retainers and have machining done on the seats- but I could spend that on repair parts if singles prove not to be up to the job!

I want to order the parts on monday so everyones advice is welcomed!!!

The question is TC, for the sake of an extra ton, do you really want to risk breaking a single spring and having a valve or two having a word with one of your pistons?? I would fit double springs no matter what, just for peace of mind.

Valve springs should be dictated by cam choice..........7 psi of boost behind them doesn't make a blind bit of difference. You didn't mention the real steel blower cam.........go with the recommended double springs.
