After 3k miles in the TVR. it's joined the Stag in the "not running" line up, grinding, clanking and whining in all gears except 4th, gear change very difficult. Any recommendations for an LT77 specialist in Essex or Suffolk?
Although I now have a Stag with a kn@ackered V8 engine and a working gearbox and a TVR with a very nice V8 engine and a u/s gearbox ..
LT77 replacement. Essex or Suffolk

I'll answer my own post.
Bought a recon box from TM Transmissions on ebay (no connection) and a clutch from techniclutch (who get a pasting on several websites), fitted by local classic car restoration specialist, not certain if he appreciates "plastic" TVRs but I'm sure he enjoys the test drive
Car has been running OK for 6 months now (except for sheared pivot pin to rear suspension and water pump failure, it is a TVR after all). Clutch is heavy and 2nd gear is slow on the downshift, used Difflock oil for the gearbox. Looking at SEACs!

Just to add for future reference, try googling Ashcroft transmissions- they are primarily landrover transmission people, but that does mean that the majority of the stuff they do is LT77 and R380.
They have a v v good reputation, and i have one of their '77 boxes in my 3.5 powered 90.
