How can I tell the difference between EP90 and MTF94 ?

Post by v8alex »

My LR dealer sold me some MTF94 oil. I recently had some work done on my R380 box at Ashcroft Transmissions who said I had EP90 in it and not MTF94. They said this was because EP90 has a distinctive smell (i.e. it stinks) and MTF94 is red.

I know they're experts in this field, but want to be sure before I call my LR dealer and moan. Does anyone else agree ?

Thanks Ian.

I went to my LR dealer who confirmed I did have MTF94. Problem over.
