Braided Fuel Lines.

Post by CastleMGBV8 »

Just wondered what is the best method of cutting braided fuel lines.

I was thinking of wrapping the braid with some insulating tape and cutting with a junior hacksaw, then slipping the rubber protectors over the tape, then just clamping up a usual.

Any suggestions?

Kevin.

Given the cost of decent braided lines allround I guess this little extravagence is just about justified! especially if you're going to build many engines.

Thanks for the replies, don't think I'm brave enough for the hammer and chisel approach, will go with my original plan as that seems to work ok.

wrap tape around it and use a very thin cutting disk in an angle grinder.
Although i do like the chisel method.

I do the same as Eliot.

Wrap masking tape round it and cut through the middle of the masking tape using those very thin cutting discs in an angle grinder.

Do the same on brake hoses
