hiya,

I've just fitted a 3.9 efi to my v8, and it has the 3AM (hitachi) airflow meter.

But i am sure the 5AM (lucas) airflow meter has the same plug and fits with no mods at all.

The lucas one has better reliability i think.

5AM fitted on late 3.9s, and all 4.2s i think and some jags.

5AM more expensive also.

i believe 5am is meant for catylyst equipped engines and 3am for non cat engines but both have the same plug. my engine has no cats and it HAD 5am which was faulty so i replaced with 3am and it works fine
