My 4.6 has p6 style round engine mounts and it does wobble a bit (no bodywork so I can see it moving) but didn’t touch anything.
But, when I swapped the LT77 for a ZF automatic the engine had to go forwards a little and now the nearside head sometimes hits the chassis.
I could alter the mounting brackets to take 2 rubbers each side but would prefer to replace the originals with something less flexible - does anyone know if they exist or are the round ones all made with similar hardness rubber?

In the early days, I just made 2 steel bobbins to replace the rubber bits and bolted it solid.

And 20+ years later, even my LS is still bolted solid. Solves any tight clearance issues.

Or you want something more rigid, this style of mount with 2 rubbers is common for Jap vehicles. Whether nylon, or using 2 rubbers. Some look like leaf spring mount rubbers, that sort of thing

Doubling up like that should allow you to make them very stable.

Up to you whether you opt for a nylon or rubber solution.

As said, some leaf spring bushes look like they might be usable, or something like this ( depending on dimensions )

That said there used to be a sponsor of this site that did poly engine mounts that were firmer than the rubber ones

Thanks for the reply but they look like the ones I already have - I expect there’s a difference in the stiffness of the rubber between suppliers but that’s not something you can tell until they’re fitted.
Yes, I found the polyurethane ones on here but unfortunately they’re different and would need new engine and chassis brackets, assuming they’d fit in the space available.
I’ll just make some with metelastic shock absorber style bushes, it should be easy enough.
