valley gasket

hi all i've looked at my engine and have noticed that my valley gasket is made of a black plastic type of stuff should i replace it with the same when i swap my carbs to efi i know it is not an efi gasket at the mo,also are they easy to get and where,
i also have a tunning problem with my v8i disco,at tickover if i stamp the throttle it will splutter before reving it does seem to run a little hot but otherwise it runs fine.. thanks guy's

The splutter is crappy timing - mine does it because the vac unit on the dizzy is knackered, but it revs fine to the top-end.

Also the plasticy gasket is a composite gasket. It gives a better seal on a manifold that might not be 100% flat. If you're using a second-hand manifold either have it skimmed or use a comp gasket. They're more expensive than tin ones, but look (they don't rust and look s**t), and work better and more reliably.

ok thanks well i have to get one ordered and then i am ready to fit the efi system. again thanks
