Bell housing fitment

Post by Pocket rocket »

Will the bell housing (LT77 'box) from a MGB V8 fit the standard RV8 block?

Yes. All the Rover V8's had the same bolt pattern, so any box from any RV8 will fit any other RV8.

Just a comment in that you may have to change the clutch. Albeit a T5 box, I fitted my TVR T5, bellhousing, slave cylinder and arm to an old 3.5 V8 keeping the old V8 clutch. I found that the clutch slipped as the slave + arm was slightly pushing in the clutch so I had to fit the TVR AP clutch to the old V8's flywheel. It was only a short term exercise but meant engine out (again).

Dax Rush 5.0l TVR V8, EFI with Megasquirt ECU and wasted spark, Racelogic Traction Control and Quaife LSD ....... Now nut and bolt restoring a TR6
