Throttle butterfly valve.

Post by jenand40 »

Basic question that I am unsure about.

I am building up an EFI Hotwire inlet manifold and I have just noticed that the butterfly valve does not fully open when the operating assembly is turned from fully closed to fully open.

I have just removed the operating assembly from my Flapper inlet manifold and I had no problems with engine revs or driving it over the last 12 years!

So this now puts a doubt in my mind as to whether the throttle was ever able to be fully opened.

Fitted to the Hotwire inlet manifold the butterfly valve only opens about one third.
Is this sufficient?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.
Andy.

Sounds very strange. It should fully open. Have you got a problem with the linkages?

Chris.
