ZF HP22 Help to ID and find parts

Post by beniboyz »

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me with my ZF HP22 Gearbox. I will say that it is not fitted in a Sherpa, it was removed from a rotten riot van a few years ago (not by myself I might add).

The gearbox is being fitted to a 3.9 Disco engine and then into a Morris Marina coupe.

Anyway, could someone ID the top plastic connection on top of the tail housing? Is this a breather? How would it have been connected in the Van?

Image

Second question: How dose the speedo cable work on the sherpa? Should there be a drive wheel inside the tail shaft? Can anyone help me find the right bits to make it work?

I really appreciate your help.

Regards,

Ben

Hi, the first pic show the breather which should have a small clip on cao on top of it, either source one from another box, or do like i did and made a suitably sized pipe push on and dropped it down the side.
Not a clue on the speedo parts, altho an easy alternative would be too machine up a bung and go with a pick up of the prop or gps, john
So thats where it went !

The outlet is a breather. I just left it as-is on my van.

The speedo drive is unique as far as I can tell. It's not available from ZF anymore, so basically block the hole off and use some kind of electronic pickup kit.
It's not the same as an LT77 drive.

I still might take you up on that if I don't get on with the ZF.
