Some states do, here in Western Australia there is no yearly one, just tested if you let your rego( road tax) expire by more than 3 months or if u get pulled over by the cops and they find something wrong with ur car.

I imagine an MOT is a bit pointless if you have to drive 500km to the test centre! which is probably the case in the more sparsley populated places

In country area's, the local garages are permitted to do the test, you would be surprised how a carton of beer can "fix" a problem :D

I wish a carton of beer worked around here, My car just failed on a blown exhaust, broken spring and a back door that won't open. . another £370 that won't be buying me some brakes for the slingshot and believe me I would like some brakes for the dragster :nutz
