BW/Tremec T5 rebbuild kit supplier

Post by dnb »

Can anyone suggest a good supplier for a BW T5 rebuild kit for a TVR Griffith? I can probably get away with just putting new bearings in, but I'd like to know I can get everything I might need (and know how much it will cost) before the case is opened.

As far as I can tell, TVR used a world class T5 from a Ford Mustang. Not sure if it's the same as a 2WD Cosworth (from the point of view of the rebuild kit).

Thanks

I think it may be slightly different to the cosie box as I think they have different sized input shafts, TVR being slightly larger.

Quick google:

I know there are companies who sell up-rated gear sets. Loads of parts in the states.

My TVR box is a Tremec, are you sure yours is BW?

Tremec bought BW in 1998 so the boxes are the same. My TVR is from 1996.

The Gearbox man supplied me with a complete T5 box with Quaife close ratio gears that had also been shot peened and polished, I guess they could supply you with any bits that you need....
