What power should I have from my 3.5.

Would you aficionados give me a rough idea on what power my 3.5 should have please? :D
I have the following setup.
RR 3.5 with SD1 std heads, std road cam. 9.75:1 pistons. All kit new and run in.
Webber 500 carb with Dual plane TRW manifold with low-rider 2” x 14” filter.
SS tubular twin block hugger exhaust with ceramic coating inside and out.

sort of guess but maybe 160-180 BHP. IMHO it takes are fair bit of work to get over 200 and 230 is about the max for a 3.5 lump. This involves head work and a cam along with the bits that you've already got. The ignition needs to be setup as well the carb.

I'm sure people have seen higher figures on "certain" rolling roads!

I was hoping for about 180.
I have the Twin point Mallory Dizzy with magnacor leads and have up graded it with the electronic module.
I am hoping to have it all set up and tested on a rolling road asap.

I think with this set up you should be pretty close, if the mixture and spark curve are spot on it should make it. A match of inlet manifold to heads (not a gasket match but casting to casting) and a qiuck clean up of the head castings to remove any casting flash and a 3 angle valve job should put you just the far side.

I agree about the manifold, my edelbrock had a 3-4mm overhang on some of the ports; admittedly the port was bigger than the manifold but the step must have still caused turbulence. It was worse once the heads were opened out to stage III. I spent several hours with cardboard templates and a burr tool and flexi drive sorting it out. The valley gasket also needed doing in my case but may not with standard ports.

You need to be careful when fitting the manifold, if you just slap it on it can be way off. I noticed a casting mark on the heads that lines up with the divider between the middle ports, you can make a similar mark on the manifold and line both marks up before doing up the bolts.
