lt77 + sd1 bellhousing alternatives??

Post by blakeydoo »

Hi all,

i have recently been rebuilding my rv8 for my mgb conversion. It was not until very recently that i have discovered the rarity and high cost of the required sd1 bellhousings.
I am aware of one or two alternatives out there but all seem even more expensive.
i understand that this is an inherently expensive hobby but i would also be interested to hear if there are any other straightforward fits for gearboxes (5 SP MANUAL).
i have the correct sd1 lt77 gearbox which was rebuilt for the previous owner who was coing to put it in a cobra replica but he had the wrong bellhousing for it which i believe was a rangerover classic manual one.

any thoughts and opinions welcomed....
cheers
dave

Buy an MOT failure and strip the bits off it.
If it's a twin plenum, call me once the bellhousing is off..
Cheers,
John
