You bloody genius; been looking for that for ages. Just got out of bed to measure up, brain wouldn't switch off. It fits!

Sump is 41.5cm wide, chassis gives me 46cm

It looked wider than the RV8, but thats because it's a 90 degree V. The actual width with headers is about the same, and allows me a few cm either side (may need a remote oil take off though)

Now just need the auto box dims now too !? My worry is the length may encroach onto the part of the chassis tunnel that narrows.

Maybe an option for the LT77 would be to make a remote gearlever housing to move the gearlever forward as was done on the RangeRover or Landrover. See top pic here:

It places the gearlever smack bang in the middle of the main case housing, much further forward than the LDV/DAF/Sherpa setup that you have. . Would be a bit of work required but probably do-able using parts from both gearboxes.

I did consider a remote set up, but was warned of the vauge feeling of the shift.

I've now sourced a GM180 complete and willl be fitting that tomorrow instead. My normal run around is an auto anyway, so happy with the compromise as this is more of a cruiser than sports car.

The RV8 is 90 degree. All proper V8's are.
