As we do winch challenge there was much talk of a 200 or 300 landy diesel. And I'm well up for a diesel as both I and my team mate were plant fitters. We havn't because;
The V8 we took out was absolutely nailed. The one cam lobe was nearly round with wear, the relief valve was jamed open and the oil pump housing looks like a hole saw has been down it. And we didn't know! The engine was running so well we assumed it was a charge light and wound the tickover up until it went out. We then ran for another hour and a half with no problems. Any engine that tough needs replacing with another of the breed

Only this time its like Steve Austin. We can rebuild it, only better

Some proper wallet damage in 2010 though

I havn't been inside these engines much, so I was advised to join this forum. And very usefull it has been.
I hope I can give something back.

A vid is a good description of what the vehicle puts up with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X013aqnzOjw
It uses about a gallon an hour on this event with twin SU's.
