I am building, and have been for what seems an eternity, a YKC julietta
with a V8 rover 3.9 engine. Have ended up with a LT77 box when I was expecting a R380!. Thus am stuck with the remote with the reverse detent stuck on the side which really is a pain. The LT77 doesn't have a 'built in'detent Ibelieve. Having looked at this thing for a long time how does this mechanism prevent you selecting reverse gear instead of fifth gear.Perhaps the remote I have is for an old 4 speed box. Any body have any helpful comments?

yes lt77 reverse is push down left and forward next to first. R380 is to the right and down below 5th. so the detent is to stop you selecting first which would be very easy to do if it didn't stop you. Not sure if there is anything or not to stop you selecting reverse on the 380 as it would be much harder to do.
