Arr, you see that's a special "Malarkey dual-lip" rubber o-ring. It looks smart and will give higher performance and mpg and a longer spark dwell time at high rpm.....

But be aware it may have a tendancy to fail unexpectedly leaving you stranded in the middle of no-where.

It's £4.71 from Rimmers, so this bloke is clearly in cloud cuckoo land!

Likely all a synthetic rubber that withstands common stuff. Boilers can run on oil as well as gas. I'm pretty certain I've replaced that O ring with one from an assortment without problems.
