Nice idea Marki, Another good idea might be to include some small bosses on the interior of the sump near the rails that could be drilled and tapped for use with windage tray or a scraper. If you had 10 of these made up and flogged some on ebay i'm sure they'd pay for themselves and leave you with one or two spares too :D

The idea of making a sump girdle has crossed my mind, I have seen girdles which have single bosses cast under each cap, and a fine threaded bolt is screwed up in the centre and preloaded onto the bottom of the cap, not for a Rover, I think it was a SBF.

Windage tray may be an Idea, I will look into that,

Baffles have allready been mocked up, A flat tray bolted accross the "well" of the sump, with a 3" tube let into it flush, and down to 1" above the botton of the sump, Large enough to clear the strainer and a bit of good clearance, so 90% of the oil has to return directly on the top of the strainer, this will hopfully stop the oil climbing out of the sump under braking, and for corners, Left and Right handed trap doors on the wings,
Provsion for a dip stick on the outside of the sump may be added as well so it dosent interfere with the trap door,
