Toyota W series gearbox to Rover V8 engine

Post by ee_lie »

Hi
I have a 1974 Toyota Corona, with an 18R engine and a W40 4 speed gearbox. Does anybody know if I can get a conversion plate to fit a Rover V8 engine. The W40 gearbox has an interchangeable bell housing with the W50 gearbox which I belive is fitted in a 1972 2wd Toyota hilux with a 2.0L engine.
Conversion and Precision who make the hilux conversion kits could not guarantee there 4 speed kit would fit and would not offer a return, £420.00 is alot of money to spend on an off chance.
Hope somebody can help.

do a search, similar topics have been covered, at least with the W-55 and R-154 types.

Search for Dellow and Castlemaine Rod Shop on the web too. As they offer a lot of conversions
