Flywheel and clutch balancing

Post by bullyboy »

Hi

I live near portsmouth on the south coast of the uk.
I have had my flywheel lightened and have been advised to get it balanced as well as my clutch plate.
Can anybody advise where i can get this done locally please?
The flywheel is of a RV8

Thanks

Chris

If this is for an ordinary road engine it's probably not essential to balance the clutch but if its for a high output high reving engine then it would probably be a good idea in which case the driven and pressure plate both need to be balanced with the flywheel but this is normally done with all the other rotating parts.

Can't help with a balacing firm in your area, try a web search.

A good new clutch such as AP or Helix would not need balancing. They are balanced when made.
