RV8 Sump

Post by kstrutt1 »

Hi,
I have purchased a sump from ebay which was suppposed to be for a SD1, unfortunately it is not and the seller is not answering my e-mails.
It has the same rearward sump as the SD1 but the reservoir is shorter and deeper, it also has a different bolt pattern for the 4 front cover bolts(the block bolts are the same) does any one have any idea what it is from?

Sounds to me that this sump is for the Type 7/8 serpentine cover as used on the latest 4.6 V8s, i.e. gems.

Check out the pics on my website:

I have a side by side picture of a Range Rover Classic and Range Rover P38 (i.e. 4.0 / 4.6) sump. The Range Rover Classic one has the same bolt pattern as the SD1 sump but is deeper.

If you need a standard SD1 sump I have one in the garage. Think I have the pick up pipe and crap/swage plate as well somewhere. Send me a PM mate :D
