Unbolt the inlet manifold with everything still bolted on top, throw it away, fit new inlet manifold and carbs! New low pressure fuel pump, not a lot more to it....

That seems a big step backwards IMO, whats problems have you with the EFI, as most are easy to sort?

If you are intent on doing this, as the last post said easy, however setting the engine up correctly may be harder especially if it is not standard and depending what carbs/carb your putting on. This will outway the cost of fixing the EFI!

I'll have a Weber 500 and an Edelbrock 351 manifold for sale at the end of September for just such a conversion as I'm going up to a 650 carb and single plane manifold then !

I would have thought spending your money on a mapable ECU would be a much better option, you will then be able to map your ignition aswell. 4 barrel carbs are good for about 30k miles but are made so cheeply that they are knackered after that, SUs were a good carb but haven't been made in 25 years and any you find will be warn out, webber dcoe's drink petrol and no one can set them up anymore. All will take an age to set up.

Its not all that bad, SU's are being made again, AFB's are great and 30k might be a bit pesamistic (ECU Mike!!!), and there are some people out there who know how to set up carbs, but if you have 8 to do it might be expensive. If you are after power and fuel economy go for injection, if you are good with the things that spark... if you want it fairly simple, go for an AFB or SU's.
