4.6 bottom rev limit.

Does anyone know how high you can safely rev a 4.6?

It depends on whether its standard or not; the standard valve springs will cause valve float way before 7500. The standard cam and ports may not flow enough and the rods won't like it much either!

I take my tuned 3.5 to 6-6.5k, generally the bigger the motor the lower the rev limit will be.

Pete

Thanks guys, i should've mentioned it just the bottome end i need to know the limitations of. I have Tvr 5.0 Griff heads (probably too big i know but i'm certainly not going to be limited at the top end though which is what i want!) and ACT induction etc so breathing isn't going to be a problem.

When I bought mine, I was told no more than 5500rpm for a standard bottom end.

Mine would have seen 6000rpm often enough though. Altough it never did want to rev more than that anyway.
