Clutch Travel

Post by Coops »

need some advice guys,
converting the v8 in the capri to all cable clutch now, (cable/hydraulic conversion at present)
and as the car etc is in pieces i have no way of working out the clutch arm/bearing movement dont want to really leave this bit till the engine is running and do it that way,

once i know the travel the arm/release bearing does from disengaged to engaged we can make the lever arm to give the correct movement with the capri pedal. (i know there will be minor adjustment but that can be done with the cable adjuster)

from what I recall the push rod of the slave needs to move 20mm - the leverage of the arm is 120/75 - So movement on the release bearing would be 12.5mm

Thats a quick rough calc so needs a check over geometrically
