There are some good bits of software out there on the net to do performance calcs for 1/4 mile racing. You will need accurate power and torque curves for you engine plus full details of your transmission. Then you will be able to check the software results against real life to get the values for gear change duration and tyre slip right. Don't forget you will need a way of relating any results to a set of standard conditions to make a meaningful comparison.

And if you think this reply is not helpful then you need to think some more.

Hi Tricky,
What rear end are you going to run :?: If 'standard' 5 speed most the lads and lasses i know that race with a 3.45 : 1 as fitted to some SD1's and was intended to go into the still born TR7 Sprint.
Great car by the way 8)

Hi Tricky,
The works rally cars ran Salisbury HA ( Mopar Dana )rear ends because the standard axle caused problems. I think :?: that these axles as well as being fitted to early Jags were also found on Scimitars :?: :?: There are several people on here that know more than i do about Scimitars so hopefully they will tell you if this is the case, will need brackets welding on ect.

In the states they shorten Ford rear ends to fit when taking a TR7 V8 drag racing, more than strong enough 8-) and readly available

Cheers John
