R380 5 speed gearbox numbers needed.

Anyone got a link etc the gearbox numbers for the R380?
the box i have looked at has 28A*******J
are the numbers the same as LT77? as they start G**A

Stan the SD1 box is fairy substancial, but if you use hydraulic fluid/power steering to keep it lubricated then it will blow, with any more than normal road work, trust me I have got rid of two. Use fully synthetic, or EP 80 gear oil which was previously stated in hand book prior to 1978. I have now got the replacement R380 sports box 28A which is a direct replacement for the old LT77 (SD1) unit which runs on fully synthetic; no more problems. Used in the TVR, Morgan, & MGRV8. The box fits but new mountings required as they are 2" further back, but prop and clutch okay. hope this is of some help!! Eric.
