Anyone play any games online?

Post by ihatesissycars »

Does anyone play any online games of any sort?

I'm addicted to Medal Of Honor - Breakthrough.

The assasination servers are wicked! Two teams, one hunting the other trying to get a selected person in their team to the opponents spawn point which acts as the escape and its bloody difficult!

What about you guys?

That sounds pretty neat!

I play Day of Defeat:Source online on the OC games server, tis great fun and pretty much the same as Medal of Honour in gameplay style.

It's only got two game modes at the moment - capture the flags where you fight over 4 or 5 points and bomb maps, where you have to detonate a series of charges at certain places.

Great fun though, especially the Omaha map. You can hit people with spades, says it all really

I tried the trial of Battlefield 2142 recently and was actually very impressed with it - thought it might be a bit lame - I found it better than BF2....

Ya!

- Battlefield 1942 and it's various expansion packs (now pretty much obselete though, but many people still play it)

Image

- Battlefield 2, not released so long ago. Modern warfare situation. Now also has a series of addon packs but not really required.

Image

- Battlefield 2142, effectively Battlefield 2 in 100 odd years, with fancy laser things and stompy battlemechs.

2 & 2142 are worth looking into - there's quite a few demo versions drifting around :)

Definitely an online-only game though, playing with the computer is like playing monkeys with guns!

Medal of honor and the battlefiled games you have to buy. There are some games that are free to download and play, Americas Army is one but generally any game thats free tends to bit a bit poo!

Wicked fun though playing online especially shooting games as when playing normally against the computer you can predict the computers movements but with real people some of whom are bloody good you just get yer arse kicked all the time and its a proper challenge!

Like yesterday in Day of Defeat, lying prone behind a bar mowing people down who run past, when a grenade rolls over the surface and lands in front of me!

I picked it up, tossed it away, only to have the damn thing come flying back with a cry of "nein" and go off when I picked it up again!

I get that on medal of honor. I'll be crouched down camping away then something will fall in front of me and i'll be like "oh look, thats a grenBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!"

The annoying gits hold on to it after pulling the pin so it goes off the second it gets to you!

Used to play COD and MOH a while back, havent re-installed since I last re-built the PC. Used to have a laugh when my oldest (at the time 3!!) played on maps by himself, someone would join and off he would go on a game...stopped that after a fascination with grenades though

Yea,
Used to be COD addict as well. It died a bit when COD2 came out, the multiplayer wasn't as good although it looked great. I play World Of Warcraft these days.. Thats good fun too :D
