Front cover

Post by ian.stewart »

Does anyone know where I can get a New front cover for my engine, I dont think I can fit a Jems as the sump area is different or so I have been told, Intermediate cover?? I think my pump is a wee bit shagged, I may just try some new gears unless I can find a new cover as well. I not to botherd what cover I run as I am running coil packs.

Ian,

Paul at V8 Tuner had different versions of new front covers available.

Check his site for prices.

Hi Ian,
Fitted one of the covers Kevin mentioned on my 4.6 took a little work changing the drive gear over, making up a timing pionter and alternator bottom mount but nothing exaclty hard and the pump chamber is deeper than a SD1. The SD1 base fits straight on as does the gaskets. The oil seal outer diameter is different but inner is the same and you need to blank fuel pump hole.

That would be lovely, noticed its not got the redundant fuel pump flange whichI modify to take my crank sensor,
In the meantime, I have been formulating a cunning plan,, not too hard either, I can see me on the mill at the weekend, make new oversize gears, perhaps 1 mm larger, and machine the pockets out in the pump to suit the oversize rotors, I dont see why it wont work, just a case of me getting my ar-e in gear,

Hi Mike,
Guessed it must be Buick or Olds origin but didnt think of the V6. the other thing that needs altering is the dizzy clamp, just a simple case of elonagate the hole slightly. Anyone else using one :?: :?: Paul said he had sold a few.
