Rear Fog Light requirement?

Post by chodjinn »

My MGB doesn't have any rear fog lamps as far as I can tell as standard, (Front fogs were only an option). I know they were fitted as standard to later models, but mine is a 1971 MkII, and as far as I can tell, if they weren't fitted, I don't legally require them, is that correct??

Also, I have two unsightly reverse lights that clutter up the rear end - is there any issues with me mounting the reverse lights inside the rear hatch out of the way? (As in inside the car, so they shine through the rear window).

cheers

Righto thanks for that, so techinically speaking if my car didn't have a fog light fitted (because it was an option), I don't actually need one? :?:

scratch that, just found on a police website that rear ones are only obligatory for vehicles on or after 1/4/86. Can't believe I missed that in my goodle search before lol
