TVR 5.0 engine

Post by simon »

I've been offered a TVR 5.0 litre short engine. I currently have a 3.5 in my car. Is this a do-able swap? I'll need a set of decent heads, but can anybody tell me what heads and other parts I should be looking for?
Thanks
Simon

Sorry Simon, dont want to divert this thread, putting one of Rob's 5.5's in it.

yes its do-able its the same external dimensions so goes straight in. Heads wise your looking at stage 4 or a set of TVR 5.0 heads. You will get away with less but it wont be the same engine. Course you will have to beef up your transmission as well depending on what you have just now.

Look at it closely. Has it got a fully counterbalanced crankshaft and forged pistons? Or is it a 5.0 based on humble parts. Did you see the car it came from? How do you know it's a tvr engine etc?

A lot less the £1500 would make me ask some questions and do some visuals.
