Valve guides
Hello, i'm fitting some short bullet type valve guides, how much should i have sticking out the top by the spring? Any ideas?
Depends on what cam you are using.
I told Real Steel what cam I was going to use and they trimmed the tops of my fitted guides down to suit.

Installed height of the later guides is 15mm but I think the distance piece LRT-12-519 used when driving them in might be longer since it bears on the spring seat not the collar around the guide.
Are your guides made slightly oversize ( +0.025mm ) to ensure a good interference fit?
You'll need to ream the guides insitu to ensure they are the right size, factory valves are 8.70mm or 0.342 inch.
