Indeed,
Local experience is more important than which flavor you select.
I once [sadly] took a MS, Stimulator and a laptop down the pub once to show a newbie all about it...

Only once?

The pub is my standard meeting place for MS discussions. They are used to me now.

thanks guys...... im from stoke-on-trent

ive got a great understanding how my normal 14 CUX ECU works and what all the sensors do and how the ECU reads them...

...but with the VEMS and MS i dont understand what sensors it needs and when people start talking about PCB, V3 code, EDIS... that it im lost straight away!!!!!! :?

also with these ECU's will there be any sort of standard setting alread uploaded on them so you have somewhere to work from, or do you have to set everything up yourself????

You will easily be able to get a map to get going with because its a rover v8 and plenty of people have done them.

Sensors:

Water temperature - can reuse the rover one
Inlet Air temperature - need to add it, because existing one is inside MAF.
MAP (manifold pressure), inside MS box, just plumb into the plenum
Lambda Sensor - Use a wideband, so you know your exact fuel ratio.

Then you need to decide how to do your ignition, I'm running edis, you could keep your prince of darkness dizzy, or run wasted spark coil packs direct from MS (and i assume vems)
