Change timing for piper cam and 3.5L auto?

Hello guys,

the problem of my combination is, in engaging the gear the rpm is dropping to about 500 to 600 where the engine stalls already due to the Piper 270 cam. The power is very good else, revolving up to about 5700 and 215km/h on the clock, with SU's, BAC needles, Stage 1 heads.
Can I improve the issue to change the cam's timing for example at about
2 °?
Other solution could be to raise compression from actually 9.55 to 9.75 by surface grinding of the heads?
