Chevy Small Block
'88 LR 90 CSW 3500 V8 LT85LW LT230T (Now with MOT!!) My 90 Front and Back
The chevy small block is quite a bit heavier, especially if you are going to use the original iron heads. Been here before but the 4.8 of 5.3 lsx engines are very good value and are lighter and smaller than the old 5.7 chevys.
With the older chevy you would need uprated springs on the front, I assume it is going in the 90?

poppet valves rule!
Have a look round my site, I replaced my 3.9 with a 5.7 chevy - which still wasn't fast enough, so i nailed on some turbos for good measure.
I got an extra row fitted into the RR efi radiator and fitted an oil cooler.
You can reduce weight by using ally heads, ally inlet manifold, ally water pump, headers and mini high torque starter.
There was a pair of adapters on ebay the other day, just looking for it.
