how to test......

Post by Jono FD3 »

Guys... my rover 3.5 is over fueling like a pig (1/2 gallon in 5 mins @idle  )!!
It's running the flapper type injection system. so I was wondering if ther is a procedure to eliminate things, eg. fuel pressure reg, afm, etc.]

Also need to know how to test the componants to make shure they are opperating correctly!!

Cheers
Jono

Sounds like it is in limp home mode (If theFlaper does that - I know the hotwire does)

To clear it
Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect it then try again.

Flapper doesn't do that.

It sounds like the coolant temp sensor to me.

Ramon Albans site has loads of tech info. I thought he had the complete factory diagnostics procedure but I can't find it. I did find this though:
