Thanks for that guys dont think ill bother then with the price of ATF and all. ok Ian that noise then.... let me say iam in the prosess of elimination so i dont really think its the trans but it woul put my mind at rest. The noise then, imagine an out of shape tyre which on each revolution rubs the inner arch, that rub is more of a grind!. When both rear wheels are off the ground its not so bad as on the road, with the wheels removed its quieter still. That coupled with the noise of people telling me ive got an out of ballance prop and the best one a shot front wheel BEARING!!!! is driving me mad.

Custom made prop??, could be the yolks out of alignment, take the prop off put the prop in a vice or workmate and put a sprit level across one end of the yolk, then check the one at the other end, they MUST be in phase with each other, another thing to check is the angle of the tailshaft within reason be the same as the diff flange, if not the prop bearings will last about ten minutes, something else to check is the diff flange runs true, I have seen diffs dropped and have theit flange bend.
Could be something obscure like a badly set CWP, if it has been fitted with a piece of crap under the gear flange, the crown wheel will run out,
another thing to try would be jack the car up with both wheels off the ground, make a fixed pointer up so you can monitor the tire rotation, turn the wheel over by hand and see if there is any run out, then check the wheel rim in the same way, if possible check inside as well as I have bent the inner edge of a rim that caused a horrendious vibration, if you find some runout, then check the axle/wheel flange for runout, its a case of just checking and eliminating everything.

Both of my streetfighters piss fluid out the rear as soon as I drop the prop.
They have so rear seal once the prop is off, so it will drop a shed load of liquid.
However! I do have a plastic transit cap for the rear of a 350 streetfighter box. I use it when I've got the box out or remove the prop to stop the fluid leaking out. It seems to spin in the seal without catching the splines. You are more than welcome to borrow it. I can post it to you if thats any help mate.
