Ive looked into it a little further seems to be pointing towards the ignition amplifier.

Ive removed the complete distributor are there any checks i can do with a multimeter to ensure the amp is to fault.

I generally keep a spare amp, and swap them when I have suspect amp trouble....... I don't know of an easy way to test them or the sensor.

Chris.

The Rangie manual I had did have a way, but it was a series of logical tests not a direct yes/no test, mine checked out OK by those but was f*cked anyway. It'd be worth looking at the upgrade, as posted on here, a cheap fix too.

Take it they are common to let go then !

Ive ordered a new one today £45 for 3 pin version and adapter loom.

Car was running perfect until the ign feed to the coil shorted and burnt the dash loom out.

Im guessing it has blown the amp in the process.

Just hope now my ecu is still intact.

Supose these things are sent to try us :(
