Hi all,
Think I have fluffed up. I assembled my Rover v8 recently for my Chimaera and I used a sachet of ARP bolt lube on the cam lobes because I read that some people used that, I assumed it contained Moly and I had some to hand.
Have since learned that the ARP Ultra Torque lube for bolts has no Moly in it. Apparently it used to, which is what people sometimes use in white jars/bottles. The stuff in blue sachets is no good for cams apparently?
The engine has not been started, although it is in the car.
Is it worth pulling the valley cover to wipe it off and apply some proper cam lube before starting? Has anyone else used the blue ARP sachets for their cams and been fine with it?
Cam Lube. ARP? Have a made a mistake?

I'd do it, just for the peace of mind.

I bloody hate redoing stuff.
I was researching cam lubes, then read that people used ARP, so just used that because I had about 10 sachets of it
I aint pulling the cam, I shall pull the valley cover off, rockers lifters etc and wipe it off best I can, rinse any excess off with the oil I am using then reapply some proper slime.

Oh yeah, I didn't mean pull the cam, just lift the valley gasket and smear it all over. Within one revolution of the cam it will be in the right places.

I wouldn't worry about it, just start the engine and run it.
