I have some Rover V8 parts that i was trying to definitively identify. I'm hoping someone out there could help me.
I have cast iron connecting rods which have the following cast in them: HRC1037 SDF157. Written in indelible marker is 507. I'm pretty sure these are for either a 3.5 or 3.9L engine but then again i might be wrong!
I have AE pistons which are marked up as AE HRC1828 and 413P and 22059A. On the piston crown is 675 written with an indelible marker plus it is stamped 22059, D06, M6 and Mw. The crown has two machined valve cut outs. its outer diameter is as best as i can measure is 93.35mm. I reckon these are for the 3.9L engine. I'm a bit confused about the valve cut outs which i've not come across on the 3.5 amd 3.9L engine pistons.
Any help you can provide would be gratefully received.

My TVR fiddled 4.3 has valve cutouts in the pistons.

Connecting rods with part number HRC1037 were used in the 3.5 / 3.9 / 4.2 and various TVR engines.
HRC1828 are the standard pistons for the 3.9-liter engine.
However, that engine has a diameter of 94mm. If you measured above the piston rings, 93.35mm might be the correct size. Measure approximately 15mm below the piston rings, 90° to the piston pin. The pistons should be just under 94mm in diameter there.
None of the Rover production engines had valve reliefs. Therefore, these could be aftermarket pistons or pistons from a TVR engine.
I believe the TVR430 has shortened 3.9-liter pistons with valve reliefs.
The marking "675" could be the piston weight. Perhaps the crankshaft assembly was/is intended to be precision balanced.
This is definitely not from a standard Rover V8.
