Best head gasket option

Post by Sideshowkev »

Hi,
After a bit of advice on which brand to use on a 3.5 Rover V8. The engine is being rebuilt and I am struggling to locate original parts and have my doubts on the “blue brand” option for the tin head gasket.

Can anyone recommend any reliable brands and stockists as I have been looking online and don’t want to take pot luck.

Thank you

I would go to somebody like Rimmer Bros or Turner Engineering and see what options they have. Their most expensive option will be the best.

Personally I would use an MLS head gasket if I was building a new engine - though they aren't cheap!
I believe most modern engines use this type of multi layer steel gasket - and it was one of the cures for the rover k series head gasket issues.
