Oil cooler bypass
I've acquired a landrover 101 oil pump cover so I can reposition the oil filter to get clearance for a bigger radiator on my hotrod. The 101 pump cover has ports for oil cooler pipes and although currently blanked off I've been told I'll need to fit a bypass between the ports. Has anyone done this a...

Re: Hotrod cooling
I've now come to realise that the bleed from between the carbs is a big part of the issue as it just allows warning coolant to go straight to the expansion bottle filling it up. That means no coolant around the top of the manifold, thermostat or top hose so nothing pressurises apart from the bottle....

I've only driven the car a few miles a couple of times as it runs like a coo, 2nd time I was too late to stop and it overheated. A lot of its running has been in the garage as I try ...

Hotrod cooling
Having cooling issues with the 3.5 in my hotrod. New waterpump, thermostat and capillary guage, electric fan behind the rad. There's no heater jyst a bypass loop. Car gets too hot too quick even with the fan on it won't last more than a few miles. Header tank feeds in on a T just below the waterpum...

Hi and standby!
Hi everyone, maybe it's a bit late being in my 60s but I've just got my first V8. I'm pretty handy with the spanners but this car is a whole new experience! I love th learning curve of a a good forum (Im in several) so standby for a load of questions on a car that runs like a coo and overheats.
